Bredene, Belgium, West Flanders beach with view at the sea

Bredene

Sand beach

Bredene is the only municipality on the Belgian coast without a sea-facing dike, giving the beach a wilder and more natural feel than most of its neighbours. The wide sandy beach is backed by dunes rather than a built-up boulevard, making it a favourite with nature lovers and those seeking a more unspoiled experience. It is also one of the more affordable resorts on the coast and popular with younger visitors and campers. The beach is part of the Beaufort outdoor sculpture trail, which stretches along the entire Belgian coastline. Bredene connects easily to Oostende via the coastal path and the coastal tram.

Bredene is also the first and only coastal municipality to have a nude beach. Naturists have found a spot here that’s just for them.
