Koksijde
Sand beach
Koksijde's broad and long sandy beach runs well beyond the town centre and all the way towards the French border, making it one of the more spacious beaches in Belgium. The beach is well-maintained, has lifeguard supervision, and offers sun lounger and windscreen rentals for a comfortable day out. Seals have occasionally been spotted resting on the shore, adding a unique wildlife dimension. The town itself has several museums, restaurants with terraces, and a lively centre with holiday apartments. Water sports enthusiasts can surf, and the area is also known for its distinctive garnaal (shrimp) culture.
